It doesn't make any difference, either way. In the US, they tell you it's only hygienic.
In Europe, they rarely retract to urinate. Urine is sterile, and gravity takes care of the half a drop in men, just like it does in women.

Post Re: What option is better for me ?

this is a topic that needs attending to as boys are being told less to pull their foreskins back when cleaning and going to the toilet. I am uncircumcised and i always pull my foreskin back when i urinate and have done so since i was a little boy. I have never had any problems with my penis and to this day i will continue to do so. a lot of boys i have known who were not circumcised wanted to know why they kept getting infected foreskins. i asked them did your dad ever show you how to clean yourself down there, some boys giggled and some were shy to ask about cleaning their penis. i had to show my nephews how to do it as there father passed on and their mother was unable to talk to them about it , i think they were all shy to talk about it. so it is up to you if you want to pee with your foreskin up or down, to me its less urine going all over the place and having a cleaner penis as well. i hope that this advice has helped you in your outcome.

I've always pulled it back, my dad taught me to do this. It's just seems cleaner to me as I have a lot of overhang.

Definately pull it back. I wish my dad had shown me what to do and how to wash underneath. I never knew until puberty hit me. Consequently my foreskin was tight for a long time till it got looser.

Everybody says to retract, but really, it makes little difference. The other mammals don't retract. It's a matter of aesthetics, not health or infection. If someone wants to urinate without retracting, they might want to wash immediately before sex, unless their partner prefers it that way (and some do).

Yes this is why a lot of boys and teens have problems with there foreskins as they were not told how to care for it. This is why I say to my nephews and my nephews have told there friends that if you have a tight foreskin and you want it to be loose down there you have to slowly strech the foreskin back.

It may take some time to pull the foreskin back so that it will retract enough to wash and to go to the toilet and that way hopefully you won't need to be curcumcised and lose a piece of skin that has been there since birth.
