Unhappy Non- retracting forskin

im an 18 year old male, who has never been able to retract my foreskin. Where it has never been pulled back, i have never washed it properly, and i can see a very large build up of what i think is smegma. It almost feels like the foreskin is stuck to the head, and i am too scared to pull back the foreskin incase it will tear, or get stuck behind the head. Should i contact my GP about this? Will they mind even though it may be very unpleasant with all the smegma? or would i be better off seeing a urologist directly?
any help greatly appreciated
Chris

Re: Non- retracting foreskin

First, drink a lot of water. When it is time to urinate, sit on the toilet, pinch your foreskin shut, and urinate. Urine is sterile, and doing this will clear out a lot of the smegma.
Then, gently attempt to retract. If you can loosen any of the remaining smegma with baby oil, this would be a good thing, even if it means putting oil on a cotton swab, and putting the swab under your foreskin. Next, follow the directions posted in the sticky at the top of Men's Health, on stretching a tight foreskin.
