Thumbs down Hate Body Hair

Hi, my name is Ryan, and I am 17. Ever since my first patch of hair under my arms grew, my mom and sisters always had stuff to say about it. My sister would run around telling everyone that I had hair under my arms, and things like that. I don't want to grow any hair on my face because of that, but I know that it is unavoidable. I recently wore shorts for the first time this summer, and again my sister said "eww he has black hairs on his legs" and that ****es me off. I am at the point that I refuse to remove my shirt or go swimming with family, and I feel very uncomfortable in shorts around them too. But I need to wear shorts because the heat is sometimes unbearable. I really want to get over this fetish, so please someone that can help, please do so!

First of all, hair is genetic and other than removing it by shaving or some other means is the only way to temporarily remove it. Second, it's part of who you are as a man, it sets us apart from girls/women who usually shave their underarms, legs etc. Sure, many men choose to remove some of it for various reasons, but most men don't. I'm really sorry that your family is giving you a hard time about it. How old is your sister? And doesn't she realize that she too is gonna have the same thing and will most likely shave it off.....more work for her! If I were you I'd try being proud of my body and it's hair, don't let anyone take that away from you. We all get teased for some reason when we're teenagers, just part of life. If they were'nt teasing you because of that it would be that you were too short or tall, too thin or fat, too lazy or crazy or something else. Hopefully you can ignore it and accept your body and all it's "equipment" as who you are!

Hey...i had sort of the same thing happening to me. My family would be like, "You got a little dirt on your upper lip...oh, wait, thats hair" Of course i got embarrased about it at first but then realized it was normal. I was MORE embarrased though when i was in gym class at school and everyone had hair on their body except me. LoL, so i accepted my hair growth with open arms. My advise would be to just laugh about it, once they see its not affecting you, they'll stop. Hope i helped...

I hate body hair even to this day. I keep my legs and arms as is but shave or trim most of the rest (pubes, underarms, chest). I would probably shave the legs as well if they hair were not light in color. It's a personal preference thing, though.

Some teasing, which happens to all of us, should not make your decision that you hate the hair. If you personally prefer no hair, you could go the route of removal. Of course, that would leave you open to the problems mentioned in previous posts, where people would then comment on you not having body hair. Waxing is the longest lasting way, as it should last for 4-6 weeks. Shaving lasts mere days (maybe hours) before it starts to grow back, but it is shorter for weeks. I guess another thing you might be able to do since it is dark and that is what makes it stick out would be to bleach it, but I do not know if that is actually something that would work well. Maybe someone else could comment on that.

I say make your decision based on your own personal preference because whatever you decide, you are probably in for typical adolescent BS.
