 Sharp pain in penis
Hi,
I'm hoping someone can give me some advice for my elementary-school aged son. Occasionally he complains of a sudden sharp pain in his penis, saying it feels like "someone is sticking a needle in it." It must be pretty bad because it almost doubles him over and brings him to tears. It generally lasts a few seconds and then gradually goes away. My husband has questioned him about it and it does not sound like it is accompanied by an erection.
What could this be? Should I take him to the doctor? He does not complain of any burning with urination or anything else that would indicate a urinary tract infection. Thanks.
