Post sore penis head & foreskin

About 3 or 4 days ago i woke up to find that the head and inside of the foreskin of my penis werevery sore and there was a lot of what appeared to be dead skin over it that had flaked off. I wiped it all off and cleaned the head up. I could still rub skin off so i wiped off all that i could. For the last few mornings when i wake up there has been a bit of this white skin which I have cleaned off. There was only a little bit this morning but my foreskin is pretty sore and red now. Is it natural for this to happen and will the skin return to normal? What would have caused this?

Could be a couple of things. Have you changed soaps recently? How about lubrication for masturbation? Any sexual encounters just prior to this happening? I'd say its a reaction to something and will probably get better in a few days. You might try using a topical ointment like neosporin to see if that would help. I'd be seeing a doc if things don't improve in a week. Good luck and let us know how this turns out!

In my opinion, most cases of itchy, red, sore znd peeling foreskins/glans are caused by yeast infections. Using a topical cream for yeast infections will clear up the proplem within a day. Trust me, it works quickly.

I totally agree with the yeast infection thing. My boyfriend had the same problem and I recomended a cream for hime to use. I was afraid he would pass it on to me and I've never had one before (knock on wood). So check out the pharmacy for yeast infection creams...what have you got to lose?

Thanks for the replys. I havent had sex recently or changed soap and I dont usualy use lube for masturbation. Ill see how it is on monday and if it hasnt improved ill have a look for some cream. In the meaning, should I clean it and wipe off any skin even though it is sore or leave it alone?

Would vaseline or normal skin cream be a good idea to use?

No I would use anything like vaseline etc.. The yeast infection cream is sold in grocery stores, etc. You don't need any prescription or anything like that. I don't know how old you are and I understand it is probably embarrasing to buy it, but most people would never even think that it would be for you in the first place. So go buy it and be over with it. If you can't buy it for some reason, then you'll need to thoroughly dry the glans and keep the foreskin pulled back all day. It will help it dry out and kill the yeast. It may be hard to keep it back and also uncomfortable but those are your only choices. I would get the cream.

I live out of town (& in the UK) and wont be able to get any cream untill monday but I will get some then. I might try to give the drying out thing a go tomorow but that sounds like it wouldnt be very possible in practice. Are those creams still prescription free in the UK & does anyone know the brand names to look for?

Would it be alright to use a cream (which I already have) for athletes foot or would this be dangerous on the sensitive skin? Also, I had a little search on the net for yeast-infection creams and they seem to be mostly for women... would these still be alright if its all i can find?

The cream you have for foot fungus is OK to use on your penis. Use it twice a day but may take awhile to clear it up. Foot fungus often takes 30 days. Are you sure it isn't dried smegma that is peeling off and by continually rubbing the glans it becomes irritated and red? Just a thought. Good luck

A yeast infection is NOT a fungus!!! It's a yeast build-up! I don't think that cream would help.

Just to let you guys no that I got some Clotrimazole cream from the pharmacy and this seems to have done the job. I tried out the drying out idea and it did help but I wouldnt recommend it!
