Boyfriend has tenderness in testicles... maybe a lump - Men's Health Message Board

Hey Guys,
I am very concened about my boyfriend. He is saying that he's got some soreness in his testicles when pressure is applied to them (gently squeezed). Nothing completely unbearable, but defenitely noticable, and it does hurt him. There is also a small hard mass by testicle, that almost feels like a small shelled peanut. You can't see it, but you can feel it.
He's only in his early 20's, and he's been tested for STD's, he's completely clean. Is there a chance this could be something serious like cancer, even at his young age? Or could it be something else?
Any help you guys might have to offer would really be appreciated.

Nobody on this board is qualified to say. He should go to a doctor as soon as possible. They will be qualified to put your minds a rest. From my limited knowledge he certainly is not too young as I know there was a football player for Millwall, an English team, called Neil Harris who is famous for returning to professional football after being diagnosed and sucessfully treated for testicular cancer as it was caught early. I believe he was 22 or something. I'm sure you can find his story on the net as I think he has set up an organisation and stuff.

He needs to see a doctor NOW. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, go STRAIGHT TO THE DOCTOR. This sounds like it could be testicular cancer.

EDIT: incidentally, a good friend of mine got testicular cancer at 17. It is not uncommon in young men. I'm 25 and I do monthly self-exams.

Actually, testicular cancer is most common in guys in their late teens to early 30's. So its definitely a young man's disease.
