My husband has had some soreness in his left testicle for about 3 days now. He says it doesn't really hurt it just feels sore and tender. He hasn't done anything strenious lately. He is 29 yrs. old and he had a vasectomy a year ago. I'm really concerned about this and I was wondering if anyone has any idea what it may be? Also we didn't feel any lumps and it's not swollen just really sore and tender.

It might be related to the vasectomy. Where there are tubes with closed ends in the body, the risk of infection is much greater. With a vasectomy, you now have two ends where bacteria can harbor and cause problems. There can be other complications associated with vasetomies.

Of course, there is a good chance it is a mild case of epididymitis or something else. If it does not improve pretty soon, he should see a doctor about it.

I had this problem about a year after my vasectomy. It got worse over time. I did a lot of research and found that the vas tubes can become painful over time due to the pressure during sex. The tubes can eventually become damaged in some cases. I elected to have my vasectomy re-done to an open ended procedure, where the testicle end of the cut tube is left open. This allows the sperm to flow during ejaculation, relieving pressure. I am very happy that I had it done, as the pain had become severe. Do a search on "open ended vasectomy".
