I hope someone out there has some useful information for me. Last Sunday when my husband and I were having sex, I noticed a tiny lump in one of his testicles. I was not sure though and he is not very open to subjects such as this so I let it go. This morning I noticed it again. Now I am sure. It is about the size of a grain of rice and seems fairly hard. It is not on the surface of the skin. It is inside. Should we worry? If so, any suggestions on how I can convince him to see someone? He is from the old school where things like this are not discussed. Please help.
oliveoyl, trust me, get him to see a docter, it could just be an infection, not all lumps are caused by cancers, infections cause lumps aswell, but u should see a docter soon, im accually going through some testicle problems at the moment, and i have no lump, atleast i think i dont, i can feel like a tiny thing, almost like a pinhead,
so anyway, get him to a docter, even for peace of mind
Guys, Under NO circumstances put off a check up due to embarrassment or whatever. Anyone with any bumps of any kind should be at the doc's NOW!!!! I have routine checks at my doc's (well man check up) I just whip it all out and then its all done!
OliveOyl if you are really worried and he won't go just ban sex unless he gets checked out - that'll work!

seth2, i went to the docter about the pain, and after antibiotics, i went to see a urologist, and he sent me for an ultrasound of my testicles and lower abdomen, the tests came back normal, the lump didnt show up on the tests, so, he told me not to worry, its probably growing pains......how old are u seth2 ?
Hi Oliveoyl,I have had cancer Hodgkins Lymphoma and also found a lump in my scrotum not attached to my testicles just moving around was sent for a ultrasond which showed up a harmless cyst, tell him to have it checked out,if it is on one of is testicles and he is in the age group of 15-35 it could be cancer. He should not be afraid of showing what he has got, having cancer is a lot worse and the sooner they catch it the easier to treat, but it will probably turn out to be a cyst anyway good luck Keith.
johnsonk59, i also suffered from hodgkins disease/lymphoma, and ever since finishing my radiation treatment, iv`e experianced testicular pain, and a lump on my testicle....could our problem be the same ?
Hi Joseph15,I don't think it sounds the same as the lump is not on a testicle just moves all around the scrotum and doesn't hurt,it's been there since Sept. 2000,it just got bigger(5/8ths long)and doesn't bother me.I was 44 when DX with HD STAGE 1VB had chemo(ChIVPP/PABIOE) no rads been free since Sept 2000.
Had a severe allergic reaction to Vincristine which made a big hole in my right arm just below the shoulder, was very painful but has now healed leaving a scar 1-1/2 inches long by 1/2 inch wide, and now am suffering with Avascular Necrosis to both hips caused by Prednisolone, had bilateral core decompression 7 weeks ago, another 7 weeks to found out if it is working(if not new hips?).You did not say if you had chemo or if your treatment has worked.Have you been on the lymphoma pages,i'd be interested to here your experiences or problems. How old are you i see you are a student,i was around a lot of young lads with testicular cancer when having my treatment so i would get yours checked.
Hope all is ok Keith.
well im 15, going on 16, and nearly about a year ago, i was diagnosed with hodgkins disease, stage 1A, so i caught it early, i consider myself lucky because i had the lump under my chin (size of a goalball) there for about 1year and ahalf, and i had informed the docter about it, i think he figured i was to young to have it or something. so after tests and and operation biopsy, i was diagnosed. Being diagnosed at stage 1a, makes it difficult to choose which treatment, because it hadnt spread past my shoulder, so i came to the conclusion i should start fresh, and have the chemo and radiation. the chemo was the hardest, i was sick while i was having it, and the rest of the day when i went home, i didnt lose all my hair. radiation was easy, no side effects at all.
how bout u
Hi Joseph15,only sick once due to trying different pain killers for my arm,not sick at all from chemo, just very tired and still am.Not been able to resume work yet still got to sort me hips out.My boy is the same age as you 16 on bonfire night,is name is Liam.I couldn't imagine him going through what you've had,you have been brave.
My HD was found in my bone marrow through being anaemic, had 23 units of blood during my treatment, also in my splein and lymph nodes in my abdomen and I did'nt even know I'd got It.Did you get the night sweats, lost count how many times we had to change the sheets.
keep smiling Keith.
i had no other symtoms besides the lump, i was in goodhealth, thats why it came as a shock, i had a little rash on my leg, i hear that a rash is also a sign of lymphoma (not all rash`s), so yeh, but i got through it, the good thing is, that everything i went through has changed me, im like a different person, im more aware of things, and more appreciative, the bad thing is, i think about it alot, which sometimes makes me abit sick, and just feel plane bad...but im sure it will pass, its only been 4months since iv`e stopped my treatment, so im sure it will pass.

My dh has the same thing. I made the dr appt for him and literally took him there. It was very embarrasing for him but his health is way more important than his pride. We found a little knot in one of his testes about the size of a pea. It was very hard and didn't move. It turned out to be a varicose, which is very normal. He was told it wouldn't require surgery unless it grew. The only harm it would do was cause fertility problems, which was one of our problems at the time.
I had an ingrown hair there and had to cut it out with a swiss army knife. I don't recommend this but I have no insurance so I had little choice in the matter. The ingrown hair looked like a white taut bump about a centimeter wide. what I did was I laid a towel on my bed and used a pillow under my bum to raise that area above my heart to reduce to bleeding. I wrapped part of the towel around my scrotum to absorb all the blood (there was allot of blood). I cut a circle around the bump with the knife and then used the knife's scissors to finish the job.
After that I scraped out the hair and follicle and then wrapped the towel around my scrotum completely and then laid in the fetal position and passed out. When I woke up I used alcohol to clean the wound. The hair I cut out was like 3 inches in length and was wrapped in a circle under the skin making the white bubble that looked like a white blister. I guess the reason for this was that it was squeezing the flesh underneath the skin making the white bump. I had pierced it before but no fluid drained.
I really suggest you have a doctor cut it out if you have the same problem because It was a very long, painful and bloody process.
