Post Safe for a 17 year old to use Creatine?

Hi I'm a 17 year old male who weights in at 150lbs at 5"9 And I'm about to change my diet to an all protein low-carb diet and I'm also planning on going to the gym 4 times a week. I read into this Creatine suppliment you take before a workout which helps give the person more energy and better results. To take the Creatine I have to drop 5ML of the liquid under my toung afew minutes before working out. I'm wondering if its safe to take this at my young age and if it really does work? Thank you whoever may answer.

Candyman-I lift weights. I use Creatine, however i am significantly older than you. I cannot tell you if 17 is ok. I think it should be. You would be best to go on a bodybuilding site and look it up. Two suggestions: first, you should start lifting and eating well, good protein sources, egg whites, chicken, tuna fish, low fat cheeses, lots of skim or 1% milk. Carbs shouyld be complex, whole wheat or whole grain bread, brown rices, beans etc. I know this may be tough at 17, so do what you can. Remember, supplements are just what they say, supplements! They are not a replacement for food. You should establish a good solid eating pattern before you start taking stuff. Second-liquid creatine is not good. If you do end up taking creatine, regular creatine monohydrate powder, 5mg a day is best. Good luck bro. Lift hard and steady, eat well, good sleep and you will be buff in no time.

You're talking about Creatine Serum right ?
I also took it and it didn't work. Better buy some good protein powder and some weight gainers, you can take Creatine later when you're over 18.

I don't know. Your body isn't completely developed yet, so I would think no. But, you can always ask a physician.

I took Creatine at the age of 16, I don't think it harmed me, but I agree with ToneTone.

I think it is ok to take it. I did when i was 18 and it did'nt harm me. The powder is much better than the liquid however. Also you should try to go to the gym at leat 4 times a week I go 6. I am also going to start something called cell tech. It is newer and contains creatine. I will let you know how it works also if anyone has tried the cell tech how is it?

At 17 this is going to be one of the easiest times in your life in building muscle. Why risk something on a powder that doesn't give jaw dropping resluts?

Would it be okay to use creatine while trying to loose some body fat as well? I am trying to loose a small spare tire that I've let myself get over the past few years. Im looking to start lifting again to tone and get somewhat bigger and stronger while at the same time I want to do some cardio 3-4 times a week and eat healthier. I know creatine is good for lifting weights and getting bigger/stronger, but what about shedding fat?

Candyman, you're only 17. You probably still have to fill out. Give it some time without the creatine. If by age 20 you still think you're too skinny and you've been lifting weight, THEN try it.

I don't think so. I read some reports, that some people gained some weight when using creatine, but it wasn't muscle, it was fat.

Re: Safe for a 17 year old to use Creatine?

hey mate,
im turning 17 soonish and i want to take creatine too. Im currently researching the same as you.
Im bout 6"1, 74kg.
To answer the guy about does it make you gain weight, it dosent make you gain weight it stores alot of water into your muscles, so it isnt fat.

Luckily im doing PE at school and we are learning about energy systems, and the short burst of energy that you get at the start of your reps is called ATP. This lasts for about 10 seconds. When the ATP energy needs to be restored the compounds go to creatine to get restored.
If there is more creatine, ATP is restored quicker and there is more ATP.

I dont know crap, but i dont think it will affect us much, a few of my friends take it and they seem alright with it.
Maybe ask someone in the shop ur gonna buy it from. Im not too concerned though.

I'm getting some creatine sometime next week.
I'll let you know how it goes.
