(Question for a friend) There is a lump on the shaft of my penis underneath the skin. It is a little bit smaller than a pea shape. It's movable and non tender. I can only feel it when I have an erection. It's been there for over 2 years. When masturbating, I use to use petrolrum jelly (vasiline). Can this cause a lump to form on the penis? Or even cancer? What can I do to get rid of it?

Well the lump can be anything from some cyst, plugged hair follicle or small growth. You should have a doctor look at it. Unfortunatly, the most probable way of getting rid of it is to cut it out.

Yes don't use vaseline. Use a water based lube like ky gel or astroglide. And wash well with soap and water afterwards. An oil based lube will clog pores and cause these cysts. Has happened to me to. I took a razor blade and cut it out. Ouch!!

Yeah I too have the exact same thing! I think a lot of guys get this because I recently told my parents about it (that took a lot of nerve) and my step dad says that he has the same thing... He said that when he went to the urologist, the doctor told him that it's a normal thing and that sometimes sperm gets clogged up in that bean and thats what makes it go up while you are masturbating or having sex. I hope I could help. I don't want to take any chances though so I booked an appointment with a urologist.
