hey guys, i've had a bad problem for about a week and a half now with something on the exterior of my rectum that is like a huge hemmorhoid but the doctor says is not...they don't seem to think it is a problem and gave me nothing for it...only said to soak in a hot tub of water and that helps for like 5 minutes...i've tried prep h and some other creams...it is just like a huge welp down there...and i can barely get up and walk without screaming...has anyone else had this problem, and if so what did you do to ease the pain...i'm desperate here...just tell me something before i take a knife and cut it off...thanks
I hope you were kidding when you said you may cut it off yourself, saying that, I can't understand any doctor doing nothing or not prescribing something if you told him that the pain is so bad. Find another doctor!!

You could have a condition called hydrodenitis supportiva. It is an inherited condition which causes boils, lumps, welts or whatever you want to call them in the armpits, genitals or even the anus-area. You defintely need to ask your doctor about this and search for information about this on the Internet. I have found that astringent and benzoyl peroxide work to keep mine at bay. During a flare-up, I use hydrocortisone in place of the benzoyl peroxide,WARNING. Do NOT use this remedy unless you are absolutley sure that it is hydrodenitis supportiva. And sometimes it does burn a little, but if you stick it out the treatment does work for some people. I am sorry for all of your pain..hope you feel better soon!
Re: something like hemmorhoids...only more painful!
I'm glad to have read your story, because for so long, I thought I was the only one in the world who suffered from the pain of flared up boils. I have tried everything under the sun to keep from going to the emerg room. All the numbing the er do before cutting your boil, doesnt even help me anymore. So I try busting them at home, just to relieve the pressure, but not getting rid of the infection. This problem has become something that I guess I will have to deal with for the rest of my life. Hang in there....
