Post after shaving my pubes...

okay, EVERY time after i shave, or trim my pubes in my genital area, i get these little VERY ITCHY red bumps all over that area. and after a week or so, they go away, until i shave/trim again. is this normal? if not, what are they and what can i do to prevent from getting them? thanks.

Its totally normal. That's why I quit shaving down there actually. I'm almost 100% sure that those red bumps are irritated hair follicles. Like, when you shave the hairs (1) rather than being rounded on the end, the hairs become sharp and (2) the end of the hair is now under the skin. Then, when the hair starts to grow again, it doesn't always line up exactly with the hole it was originally growing out of so the sharp hair is sorta jabbing underneath your skin. Eventually, the hair finds its way through and thats when the redness goes away. But then as soon as you shave, the whole thing happens again.

tried it twice and never doin it again, had the red bumps and all due to irritation from the short rigid hairs. so i would recommend if u need to cut it just dont cut it too short.

Hello esper...

I've actually only shaved down there once, but I remember when I did, it itched like hell. If you really think about it though, your face would hurt and possibly get bumps when you shave, at least the first couple times. How many times have you done this? I figure your skin/follicles would eventually start to build up a resistance of some kind, but don't take my word for it. Like I said I only did it once.

i shave down there. well only once after I got crabs. which btw didnt itch or bother me like i thought they would. anyway i shaved and put stuff on me and they are gone. but about the shaving it doesnt itch me. few bumps no biggie. i shave when i take a bath. sorta messy lol but it doesnt hurt AT ALL and it gets it smooth. definitely recommended.

I shave my balls by using regular razor with soap. That is when you take a shower, you need to be careful not to cut or it will be hurt (ouch). i shave my balls everyday. no itching at all. It sure feels nice and smooth. It makes your balls and penis bigger.

Try shaving in the direction the hair grows, don't go against the "grain", it reduces ingrown hairs (red bumps), but you'll get stubble faster.
