Right Side Varicocele - Scared! - Men's Health Message Board

I have a right side Varicocele, which, from what I have seen on the net, is a bad thing. Having a Varicocele on the right side is very rare. It mostly happens on the left or both sides. I have been having a lot of pain in my groin and right leg. So since my leg is hurting also, does it mean i could have kidney problems (cancer, bockage). I will see my doc in a week, but still very freaked out. Not only do I have to wait a week, then i have wait even more time for tests (Last I checked the waiting list for CAT scans here is over a month). I hate waiting, it gives you time to sit around and think the worst. Any ideas?

Sounds like you are doing what you should be doing. Are the going to do a Catscan, I thought an ultrasound was the more usual procedure here. It sounds like they could be something going with the circulation that is affecting more than the scrotum. I hope that you don't have to wait too long for the test results. This problem should be able to quickly and easily be resolved. Please try not worry about it.

cancer? dude dont think u got cancer just cause ur leg hurts.....i have a varicocele vein my left testicle and my left leg hurts! don't mean anything dont worry you'll be fine....i might have also on my right i dunno yet....gonna do an ultrasound on july 4th and find out

A varicocele on the right side is not 'bad'. Who told you that? It's more rare to have a varicocele on the right side, but its no more problematic than a varicocele on the left side.

The only reason varicoceles usually happen more often on the left side is the spermatic cord is much longer on the left side than on the right, and thus has more chance of the tiny valves inside the veins to fail. Why is the left cord much longer? Don't know, other than its one of mother nature's cruel jokes on us males.

Don't worry about it - varicoceles are common, and are usually harmless. And even if they are causing problems, its never life-threatening, and usually easily treated.

hey dude, i have a very ****ing large left varicocele, i mean, its more twisted veins than testicle in my scrotum on the left.
but i am worried cus recently its started to ache a bit here and there, and i get a slight aching in my right testis.

Is it possible that they can spread?

please someone help
i am going to go doctors on monday, but iam still quivering with fear.

Anyone here had one ( or two) fixed?
