Post Question about Testosterone replacement and Sex

I have been reading some things about men who have trouble with sex after going on testosterone replacement therapy, and was wondering what is the deal on this? I am 20 years old with Low T levels. I can still attain a errection, although not very hard, can still ejaculate, But feel hardly no orgasm at all. What can I expect after going on Testosterone replacement therapy, as far as how my sexual functioning will be?

That all depends on the degree to which low testosterone is the problem. If it is your only problem then you can expect very good response to replacement therapy, to some extend even stronger erections and libido than you had before. However in some men, taking too much testosterone can actually cause impotence due to excessive estrogen production (some testosterone is converted into estrogen in males). This can be fixed by adjusting the testosterone dose.

If you have other problems like low DHEA or low cortisol levels then the situation becomes more complex because you have to balance these hormones and they also affect preformance and libido.

Of course you will have the psychological problems to deal with as well. Your lack of performance now will spill over and cause some anxiety. Sex takes place mainly in your brain and confidence is a big factor in final feelings and performance. In addition some men feel they are not 100% man anymore because they are using an artificial aid for sex and that is an additional burden to deal with. It's easy to say get over it, but it's not so easy to do.

I suspect every man is slightly different so you won't really know til you try it. You may find using Viagra for a while will restore your confidence levels.
