I've read various posts of guys who had an adult circumcision. The ones that had it done purely for cosmetic or asthetic reasons, and really wanted to be cut, are usually happy with the way it looks after the circumcision. However, most report a loss in sensitivity, particularly in the head (glans). Many guys who got cut as adults just for cosmetic reasons, have regrets years later that they had it done. They often report sex and masturbation was better with a foreskin.
Now guys that had problems with their foreskin, such as inability to retract it due to severe phimosis, and got cut as adults, are almost always pleased with the results. But this is because they never had a fully functioning penis before.
My advice is do what YOU want - not what other people think. Including your wife. Deciding on circumcision based on what others perceive or think of uncut penises, or trying to 'fit in', is a big mistake, IMO. Also, be aware that if you do go ahead with circumcision, expect a loss of some sensitivity.
