Groin Aches, PLEASE help me - Men's Health Message Board

I'm 24, male, married(monogomous), no history of illness. Do to being sick I haven't had sex for about 30 days...

Ok, about 4 days ago, I developed an ache in my groin. It's almost 100% on the right side. It radiates from the pelvic bone down to the bottom the testicles. It worsens at night, and when laying down. I've examined the equipment as best I can and can find no wierdness.

The ache is accompanied by some sharp pains during an erection(though they have been few as of late). Possilby something to do with it.

I began developing the ache in my groin about 5 days into taking methylprednisolone(steroid) and avelox for some sinus problems. At first I figured it was the drugs, but now it's getting worse. The erectile pain started happeneing about a week before that. I'm very scared now. Been sick forever and now this. Off the meds and still going on.

I've made an appointment with a doctor for 2 days from now. If there is anything you guys can say to help ease my fears, it would rock. I'm so tired of all this.

Had you been coughing a lot? Maybe pulled something from coughing. It's good you'll be going to see the Doctor. Hope you get relief soon!

What were you sick with? That probably has something to do with it.

It does sound like a pulled muscle. You should try to rest as much as you feel the need to. Use ice packs on it to help it feel better. Or you could use heat...whatever makes you more comfortable until this thing gets cleared up.

I once had a groin ache for several months. I thought I had a hernia. At the walk-in clinic, they couldn't figure out what it was. A good doctor figured out that it was mild prostatitis. He put me on Cipro (a strong antibiotic), and told me to cut back on coffee. (Not caffeine. It's something else in the coffee. So don't switch to decaf!) It worked. What a load off my mind.

This may not be your problem, but this is a common condition, and many don't guess that that is what they have.
