Sore Left Testicle

My left testicle is sore and this isn't the first time. It hurts for a couple hours and then it will go away but it start hurting again in a while. The gaps are usually a month or 2 between. I am 17 and I don't feel any lumps. Any idea what the problem could be?

If you need more information i'll do my best to answer.

It is a dull ache and it seems to go away if i either ignore it or sit still for a while but if i bump it there is a quick moment of more pain but nothing unbearable.

Re: Sore Left Testicle

This is probably just a feature of your age - growing pains. Things are happening down there and it can be quite painful. Your family doctor would probably suggest an ultrasound scan, just to make sure and, embarrassing though it may be, it is nothing to worry about.

Re: Sore Left Testicle

I've had this off and on for about 10-12 years. It started shortly after I started my first sit-down all day job. It bothers me for about 3-4 weeks, maybe twice per year, then goes away.

Re: Sore Left Testicle

I would agree with checking with your family doctor. I had a similar situation and it had to do with soreness to where I couldn't even sit easily. They did an ultrasound on my testicle and it turned out O.K.. In reality it was my epididymis and vas deferen that had an infection, which when treated with Doxycycline or Ciprofloxacin (depending on what your doctor suggests) got rid of the infection and the pain. My doctor said it is normal for bacteria to be present in our system, but sometimes an infection will start. I would check to see what they think.
