Question Odd swelling after circumcision

Hi, I am a 18 year old male who was circumcised about three months ago. However, their is a ring of swelling right underneath the head of my penis which is still sensitive and puffy looking. Over the span of 2-3 weeks, the right side of the ring fully healed looking normal, but the left side has shown no improvement throughout these past months. After sex, the left side becomes more swollen while the right side shows little irritation. I'm just worried that the left side will not heal and will stay like this, any ideas of how to speed up the healing process and how long it might take? Also, is this normal? Thanks everyone for the help, I really appreciate it.

Re: Odd swelling after circumcision

There is no way to speed up the healing. It takes some men two weeks, it takes others a year. If you are concerned, ask a surgeon...either the one who performed it, or someone else. Best of luck with it.

I have the exact same issue as you! I had a circumcision and I'm 18. Except Its now been 6 months for me since my operation, my left side is bruised looking and gets worse with sexual activity. also a bit of bruising down from the frenulum to the balls and the left side of the initial wound looks a bit jaggedy compared to the right.

I saw my doctor I think after about 3 months and he assured me that he had done a good job and that swelling takes about 6 months to go away. I am starting to be a bit concerned again now.. It all works fine so this is purely asthetics but still. I might give him a call and ask whats up. Also the whole thing is like ever so slightly erect looking. Like only real slightly and I assume thats a bit of general swelling still? Or I'm growing :P

Hope this helped...

Re: Odd swelling after circumcision

I've also got the annoying swollen in the incision area.

What worries me most is that it's still there after 3 years (surgery done in 2008).

I noticed that it's gotten swollen again after part of the skin detached from the suture's scar (Idk how to describe this, it's like it's been sutured in two places and now the top part detached, what I see now are round-shaped scars of the first suture).
Both sides of the incision 'ring' are a bit swollen. My penis looks fine when it's erected, though.

Anyway, I know the best solution is to see a doctor, I've an appointment scheduled and am eager to know what is causing this.

Has anyone else had a similar issue?

This is scary, you don't expect these things to happen after having done the surgery years ago..
