Painful Right Testicle, Please HELP!

Hi, I have been experiencing some symptoms with my right testicle which have become pretty strange and making me freak out. I am a 22 year old male, and have a history of health anxiety which has been known to amplify my symptoms and cause me problems with interpreting real problems from those in my head.

Two and a half years ago I began experiencing pain in my right testicle, it would ache for a few days to weeks and disappear. Ive been checked out by my general care doctor twice and he has not noticed anything. I also had blood tests that showed I was healthy, although this was more than a year and a half ago. However, about 4 days ago I had my first pains in this are for quite some time. They wont go away and I am starting to get worried. When I run and wear jeans, or even walk for a while my testicle gets a dull ache that radiates to my abdomen. I also noticed my sac is a little red and warm, but due to being a hypochondriac I have the tendency to poke and prod areas that hurt, and I have been constantly checking for bumps and comparing my two testicles. The right one seems slightly larger, but it always has, but also seems heavier and I notice it when I am doing exercise and moving. I am really freaking out that it is testicular cancer and dont have the health insurance to get an expert opinion. I can go to my school doctors for free, but they have told me twice not to worry and I think they may be just trying to get rid of me. I know there could be other things wrong, but the symptoms fit testicular cancer, and I am in the right age group. I felt a pinch lifting one day in that region and was wondering if this set it off maybe. I am trying to avoid the area and hoping it goes away, but it is hard. Please help, I am really in a panic and cant sleep and stop thinking about it.

Re: Painful Right Testicle, Please HELP!

Hi

Testicular cancer is a worry for most men (even me) , so dont feel like you should ignore changes in your testicles just because 1 doctor has said it seems ok. Also relax a little more , if you had the same symptons (with no change) for 2 and a half years then it is more likely to be something else.

You should avoid prodding and poking contantly though , this can make the testicle feel sore and tingley after a day or two. You should also know that one testicle is always slightly larger than the other (just one of those things) , but obviously if it is allot larger then it needs to be checked out.

Have you done a legit testicular examnination?

Can you feel any enlarged areas/lumps on the testicle (should feel reasonably smooth all over)?

Is it swollen?

Re: Painful Right Testicle, Please HELP!

So I went to the doctor last week. They instantly ruled out testicular cancer because it was the pain fluctuated to both testicles on and off at different times. I explained my left abdominal pain too and they still did not think it was a problem with the testicles. They checked for inguinal and abdominal herniation and found nothing. They ruled it a possible sports hernia, abdominal strain, or groin pull, or a combination of more than 1. I was prescribed pain killers and told to stay off it a few weeks. The pain went away for the most part. However, when I sleep or move a weird way my testicles begin to hurt until I adjust which is weird. Also, the other day I returned to activity and once again got the pain back, not as severe, but still bothersome. It hurts a lot when I wear tight clothing too, such as a belt. Could an injury to my abdominal muscles and groin really cause such distinct and strange pain, or should I seek a second opinion?
