hi, i am christian and addicted to masturbation.
i don't do it excessively but i just cannot stop
it.
when i don't do it for 2 or 4 days i get horny
and walk around with a hard on !
what am i supposed to do ?
when i read the newspaper and see a naked girl or
whatever i already get horny !
what to do ? maybe other christians can help,
but there are christians which say that it is okay,
others say it is a sin.
but one thing i have to mention:
i do NOT use pornography.

find some quite time alone and start whackin'! Try to get your addiction under control. Most guys are needing release once or twice a day either through masterbation or sex. You're okay. Just don't be consumed.
I'm not a Christian, but why do you care what other Christians think? Last time I checked you didn't have to live up to their standards, after all they aren't God.
I say keep on pumping unless you reach a point where you start getting irritation from it! As far as being a good Christian, I'm quite sure that a lot of the clergy are pumping away the same as you. It's a natural act that has nothing to do with religious beliefs. Just enjoy yourself until the right woman comes along.
As a Christian and once very active in youth work I struggled alot with masturbation. I tried to stop thinking it was a sin, I felt guilty, ashamed and did all sorts of things to try and quit. I discovered that it is natural, healthy and most of all the safest form of sexual activity there is. The problem that I found was the "impure" thoughts and use of porn were the real "sins" to deal with. So, I stopped using porn and got my thoughts under control and the guilt went away. So my friend....keep masturbating and stop kicking yourself for it, I also learned that I couldn't stop anyway but I was able to lessen the amount of masturbation. Don't worry about this, it just isn't worth feeling so guilty about! Keep in touch and welcome!

I have already asked many Christians about this topic and
they all said what you said.
That the only sin was using pornography.
But there is one thing which scares me.
In the Old Testament there is one part where it is written that if
a man loses his semen, or seed, he becomes unclean until the evening.
He also had to sacrifice turtle-doves, but this was in the Old Testament
and now we no longer have to sacrifice animals because of Jesus' wonderful
sacrifice.
But i still ask myself what God thinks about this topic and after all are
we allowed to become UNCLEAN ?
What if a Christian dies after masturbating ? (dumb question, i know...)
And do we have to shower and wash our whole body after masturbating ?
All these questions chase me and i cannot answer them.
When i masturbated during the day and i pray to God in the evening in simply feel guilty,
just like God was saying to me: How could you do this ?.
I already asked God for help, but i mean after all i cannot suppress my whole
sexual desire.
Can you answer all these questions ?
Ask your priest this isn't the place for religious discussions.
Or better yet use your own brain, and make your own decisions. different sect will tell you different things. The old testament also says it's OK to keep slaves, and beat women. Just read Leviticus about all the stuff you aren't supposed to do.
It is obvious that you are taking things much too literally. It is speaking of unlcean in the spiritual sense not a physical.
Just use your own brain to determine right from wrong. Listening to other people leads confusion and hate. You know right from wrong follow it. Besides with all that is wrong in the world today do you think God really cares what you do with your penis, or what you and your wife do in your bed?

Masturbating won't send you to hell, or make you unclean, although a pre-occupation with sex is usually a sign of boredom &/or anxiety.
No offence intended, but I certainly find your religious guilt quite neurotic.
All I'll say is this: if God didn't want us to masturbate, he would have made us in such a way that we couldn't masturbate (or wouldn't have the desire to). Think about it.
Think about this too: many animals in nature also masturbate! Are God's creatures "unclean" ?

arnold, I am a christian too, and i feel the same way about masturbation as Lance.
As for the Old testament, it was dealing with *ceremonial* cleanliness. The act of masturbation does not make unclean, or sinful.
Also consider it in context, people in the bible married really really young. I doubt they had the unreleased sexual tension that people of this day has.
