Around a month ago I tried a legal substitute to marijuana. I have never done any type of drug, never drink, and I am fairly athletic. I have never had health problems in all of my life. I have only tried marijuana once and didn't like it at all. I tried the legal substance to see how it was and it did not agree with me. Immediately I started seeing black spots in my vision similar to what you see before you pass out. I had a rapid heart rate and a sensation in my stomach from the palpitations. I knew something was not right so I went to the Emergency room. They hooked me up to an EKG and gave me medicine to calm my heart rate. I went home a couple hours later. A week after the accident I still had an irregular heart rate, but it was never fast. My friend that is a nurse told me it would take a while to get my heart beat rhythm back the same. She was right and I was fine for 3 weeks after. Last night I went to sleep and around 5 AM I felt a jolt sensation and had trouble going back to sleep afterward. When I woke up to go to class I was having a faster than normal heart rate. It definitely wasn't as fast as it was when the accident occurred, but it was faster than normal. It finally calmed down, but has been irregular the rest of the day. I have never felt any pain what so ever..even during the scare before the emergency room. It is just very uncomfortable and I worry about it. The doctor the night of the emergency room told me that there have been many negative reactions with the legal marijuana and it is made in labs. I made a horrible mistake in thinking that since it was legal that it was safe. I found out the hard way that that is not true and learned a valuable lesson. I have a doctors appointment this week to get checked. Has anyone else experienced any thing like this or know what the cause of my symptoms are. Thank you very much!
I think I'll reply to this only because no one else has. I'm not experienced myself with this "legal" version of marijuana. I'm taking it you're talking about the incense they sell everywhere and people use to smoke? Well, if you are talking about that, I've only heard a few things about it. There's a boy on my college campus who sells it and uses it a lot, he apparently has heart problems and has to go in to get a valve changed sometime this month actually. I don't know if it's from the "legal" version of marijuana, but I'm guessing it didn't help his case. Another thing is that everyone I know who has tried it claims that it gives them a very bad headache afterward. Maybe it's the strange side-effect mixed with your anxiety about what could happen that caused your heart rate to go up? If you only tried it once, I wouldn't worry. I wouldn't make a habit of it though. Best to stay away from things that give you that much anxiety, it kind of ruins the point. Sorry about your experience either way.
Dude, I feel exactly the same way and that was like 1 month ago when I tried MJ, But mine is that I feel like nothing is real I dont have any emotions I have a hard time going to sleep and cant concentrate on things. I feel like if I lost myself forever and there is no hope of me ever feeling normal again.
