Been doing some archive reading and found these (both from 2008) which mention shaving nicks, they both also claim their problem is solved but as always with acknowledgement that most of us may have something different from each other...

And amazingly I also found a thread way back in 2002!!!

Reason: Tried to make this 'prettier' with HTML links, but wouldn't you know it- the option is switched off.
I was only taking 1x 1000mg tablet a day, but since yesterday have upped the amount to 3 a day. So far the itching has calmed a bit but it's too early to tell as sometimes the RSS has it's low points and high points.
I just underwent some patch testing with my allergist. She tested me for about 40 common allergens. End result, I am allergic to the dye that is in SOME clothes.
I do recall my wife had purchased me new underwear the week this all started. It is a possibility, that the RSS was caused by irriting my sack with a razor, and then coming into contact with the dye from my new underwear.
The allergist said that the dye should wash out after a few washings, so that doesn't explain why I still have the RSS, but I think I owe it to myself to get some tighty whities and give it a whirl.
Just a quick update. I'm not getting any better than the last few days and I'm not getting any worse, but it looks better and feels better majority of time. I think the vit C is doing most of the work to keeps things in order. I stepped back to 2000mg the day I felt a lil something, but of course it was when I was sitting. I don't believe the antibiotic is going to do it, which will be up tomorrow. Sitting is still my only issue. I'm still convinced it's internal, which is funny cause 2months ago I was sold it was externally....lol I think when I sit straight up on applying pressure on something that causes domino effect of scrotum burning.
@ Nowwhatdowedo: your recent post makes me sick...lol. How has this been an issue for that long and noone can take care of this? Isn't there some pharm co that wants to make some quick millions...and I'll fin' pay for whatever is the answer...lol..or even be there lab rat...lol. I don't know what's worse the time I've spent in discomfort from the burn or the time I've wasted trying to find the cure....ehhh
Either way, quick thought I had earlier today. Is everyones scrotum burning on both sides or just one. Mine has always just been on 1. It's always the same one and that one always looks bad, while the other doesn't seem to effected. It never looks dry or scaly unless the other one is in really bad shape. Not sure if that will give any input, but who knows?
Mine was 70% the right side (in total area) and was way worse in symptoms there too.
By the way, anyone trying the Vitamin C approach, if you're not seeing much improvement on your present dose, I recommend doubling it for at least 7 days.
It can't hurt and at worst costs you a few dollars.
3,000mg worked for me but my immune system wasn't too badly off as evidenced by the fever I was able to generate. (Incidentally, it's a little known fact that one hallmark of cancer sufferers is that they are UNABLE to raise a fever such is the state of their immune systems)
From what some of you have written, your immune systems are severely compromised and you'll need a much higher dose.
In saying that I'd like to comment that I am utterly impressed by how, as men, you have all acknowledged the parlous state of your general health/ immune systems and the splendid efforts you have made each in your own way to address that.
Your candour and openness is very refreshing and encouraging and should be an inspiration to all men reading this.
On a personal note- it is a privilege and an honour to be in your company and to witness your journeys and efforts.
The movie that I was talking about, if you view it, you'll know what proccess I used to eliviate the pressure in my prostate. I really feel like if I could afford to do the proccess correctly I would be at 99% sustained after 3 months and permanantly healthy after a year. As of right now I am doing it on foodstamps and starbucks "organic" from my girlfriend, thank God for her.
That reminds me. PH levels are so important as well as water quality. I bounce between two locations. At one I have a source of bottled water. At the other I have the most polluted drinking water in the continental U.S. and the difference is immediate.
Check out -T-h-e- -G-e-r-s-o--n- -M-i-r-a-c-l-e- or -T-h-e- -B-e-a-u-t--i-f-u-l- T-r-u-t-h- on -N-e-t-f-l-i-x- on Demand. the -C-o-f-f-e-e- -E-n-e-m-a- seemed to really help even when watered down with half -C-ha-m-o-m-i-l-l-e-. I put dashes because if certain people read these posts they will start filling these boards with misinformation.
Sitting or laying down is when it itches the most for me.
70% of the symptoms are worse on my left side. That's where it all started, but now both sides are pretty bad but the side where it started is always worse.
When I scratch it too much I start getting cracks and cuts in my skin which I do have right now.
I've been taking 3000mg a day and so far it doesn't seem to be taking effect but I'm going to continue on it since I have 120 pills.
With all of these posters who claim the problem is worse when sitting, it really makes me wonder if this is nerve related.
Yesterday I sat WAAAY too long at a luncheon party and my sack was on FIRE afterwards.
There is a nerve that runs through the groin and close to the tailbone called the pudendal nerve. It is injured easily by sitting too much, or by falling on your backside. I wonder if we haven't all damaged or compressed this nerve somehow. That would account for the burning, and for it being worse when sitting. Does anyone know if nerve damage can make your skin red?
I just came across this thread for the first time today and the amount of time and effort that's gone into solving this is staggering. I'm very appreciative of all of it.
My background:
I've been in a long distance relationship for 2 years and while the majority of the time I remain faithful, I've had moments where I cheated. I'm certainly not proud of this, and it has made me a believer in karma. The first time I cheated I received unprotected oral sex from a girl whom I had just met. Needless to say, a few days after that I developed RSS for the first time in my life and went into panic mode thinking I'd contracted some form of STD. I came clean to my girlfriend and went and got tested expecting the worst. Everything came back negative and the doctor prescribed me an anti-fungal that had little effect on my worsening symptoms (scaly skin/redness/tingling). Over time the symptoms faded but my scrotum has never returned to the healthy color it used to be. Recently, I had a brief encounter with an ex-girlfriend and within 2 days the RSS was back in it's full fury. So, once again I turned to the internet to figure out what the hell I had done.
I found the post by WhiteNorth in which he attributes it extreme stress levels to be one of the more interesting explanations I've heard. Building on that, my personal theory is that something happened on that fateful day a year or so ago in regards to the oral sex. Since then, any sexual contact (always protected) with an alien vaginal area results in a terrible outbreak of RSS. I think my genitals have developed an "immunity" to whatever irritant comes out of my girlfriend's vagina but when I cheat it gets a full dose of something it doesn't know how to deal with and goes into over-drive. This is then augmented by the extreme feelings of guilt that accompany my infidelity.
In any case, you're all much more knowledgeable on the subject and, again, I appreciate all of the effort that you've all put in. Just thought I'd throw my story into the mix of male lives affected by this.

First, welcome to the forum!
As you have probably discovered by reading through previous threads, most of us (if not all) experienced extreme forms of stress right before the onset of our symptoms. My guess in your case is that guilt=stress.
Lots of theories out there, but after thousands of posts over hundreds of threads, we're not any closer today then we were years ago (as far as these threads go back).
My advice:
1) Moisturize (I recommend Cerave)
2) De-stress (meditatation, anti-depressants, or both)
3) Stay away from steroids
Rather than say "Welcome to the club" as it's not a 'club' any of us wanted to join- instead, thanks for the contribution.
Interesting how the recurring theme of a sexual encounterr at first onset keeps raising its head (pardon the pun), despite all our theorising about cause (inc. WildNorth's latest observations).
It's amazing how that occurrence still results in no identifiable STDs being present after everybody's first fears and all the subsequent testing.
Again thankyou for the effort in posting and adding your story to the ever growing list.
I had RSS before I even experience sex for the first time. I first got red scrotum syndrome around the age of 13, and I didn't have sex for the first time until I was 16. I am now 22 and the RSS is going on strong and worse than it ever has been.

Yeah.....I've said this before, but I know mine wasn't sexually transmitted either. 24 years of marriage, and neither my wife or I are the cheating type. That said, I don't think we can igmore the dozens of guys up here who say there rss occurred after a sexual encounter.
Again, the root cause for many of us might be different, whereas the symptoms are the same.
I think we are missing a BIG piece of the puzzle in that many of the old timer posters are gone. The only old timers left are Unknownally and Nax. The only old timer who actually posted they were cured was Greatballsoffire, and he went the doxycycline route. I hate to harp on this, but if the oldtimers are gone because they are better, why haven't any of them posted?

Why aren't the simply easy cures to everything allowed to be trumpeted. A child eats what ever is put in front of him. A teenager eats for pleasure stupidly and either learns or doesn't what benefits him for his purposes of pleasure health strength. An adult eats what he can to be healthy and do what he needs to do as best he can afford. A father looks to prevent his family from being malnurished or poisoned and feed himself to hold it all and lead. An older man learns to refine his food intake to prevent any attacks to his system and to sustain the vitality that he has developed up until that point. An Ancient realizes that more important than the enjoyment of any food is the enjoyment of optimal health and eats only that which sustains him.
How many Ancients are you surrounded by?
Ever wonder why there are so few? The older folks walk around like miserable decomposing undead zombies.
Do not be happy with your state of lost disenfranchisement.
