I was recently in an skateboarding accident where I ruptured my urethra badly, I had to where a catheter for 9 days. I didnt move the position of the catheter at all during that time frame, my penis was essentially in the same position and I began to notice that it was becoming stiffer. It felt like a half erected penis armed to the side of my leg.
Anyhow, Its been 3 days since I had the catheter removed and my penis doesnt feel quite normal yet, It is still stiff but in a pointing down position. Is this something to worry about, or do you think its just part of the recovery process from the catheter?
My guess is that you had some bleeding into the spongy layer that normally infuses with blood when erect. This had more to do with the injury than the catheter. I would call your Dr. to inquire, but I think as long as it is getting better and not worse, it will likely take several days for the blood to reabsorb. Warm compresses a few times a day may help (as long as it isn't getting worse, in which case ice would be best). If it is getting worse, you must call your Dr immediately and be seen, as that would indicate continuing bleeding. Avoid aspirin and ibuporfen, naproxen as those enhance bleeding. Tylenol is fine for pain. There may be some element of swelling present too which will resolve with time.

Thanks, it definitely isn't getting worse. I have been taking about 800mg of ibuprofen daily for pain, and 2 vicidin (5mg hydrocodone / 500 apap). I will stop taking the medications and see if I get results. Im a college student, and walking to class was a painful task. I will also try the heat and cold method. Thanks for you input, I appreciate it greatly!
I would just skip the ibuprofen but the Vicodin is ok for pain, as it has Tylenol in it which doesn't affect bleeding. Hopefully it is a little better today.
