How are adhesions caused?
I have a penile adhesion where the foreskin of my penis can not be detached from the glands when my foreskin retracts and I'm having an operation to remove this adhesion in 2 weeks.

Was I born with an adhesion or was it caused over time and what caused it?

At birth, the foreskin adheres to the glans. Gradually, over time, the adhesions loosen so that the foreskin usually becomes fully retractable after puberty. Sometimes, small adhesions persist and can be detached by the use of baby oil (for example) and careful manipulation -- or, in your case, by surgery. Ask your doctor for a more professional explanation.
