urine stream problem

I recently had a turp and am at the 17 day point in my recovery. So far I am happy with my progress. I have had many of the problems that other members have posted such up 10-12 times a night to urinate while passing some blood, scabs along with moderate pain. Not much sleep the first week. About the 14th day, I could see improvement and last night(day 17) I was only up 3 times with no pain. On the down side, whenever I pee, it goes everywhere. I must be sitting when I let go or it goes on me and some goes over the sides of the toilet. I can,t see any external reason for this. Will this condition improve or am I doomed to be a sitter from now on. Has anyone had this problem. Your advice is appreciated.
