Question Pysciatrist overrule a school and recomend a pupil to stay?

Hi,

I'm about to be kicked out of my school due to my problem which centres around a teacher- I get panic attacks when I see 'her'. It's with my everywhere though, not just at school and I have no doubts that it would continue elsewhere. I'm not in school at the moment and it has been hell although I will admit no panic attacks- just constant thoughts, fears, a lot of anxiety symptoms. I can't touch things that remind me of 'her', etc but I will say that I feel it's worse inside my mind not being at school. It's just all built up and is overpowering.

I know it does involve a member of staff, but this member of staff did hurt me last year even if it wasn't that bad. It lead for me to have this horrible reaction which has been going on for about a year with panic attacks. However my first panic attack in front of 'her', 'she' made out was fake despite being supportive at the time, etc.

Anyway this wasn't the point to my post. I just wanted to ask that if a pysciatrist or pyscologist (or both- I have both) recomended you to stay in school, like mine should I think, would the school have to reconsider?

I think it would kill me if they don't let me come back. I have problems with projection which means they won't let me have medication due to the value I put on things, but I'm so scared that I won't be able to come back. I see that as it. And it is really because the problem won't go away and I have no way of beating it. These two weeks away from school have been really hard; I don't want to have to have this permentally or even go to another school. It's too much.

I'm just praying that the pysciatrist or pyscologist or both of them will recomend that for me. The pysciatrist was horrified at my head of years suggestion of a year out and then coming back a year later to redo the year I missed. I know that won't work anyway.

Anyway could someone please reply if you have any knowledge or opinions on this subject? Can a pysciatrist overrule a school? Or at least make them reconsider?

Thanks. take care all xx

As far as I know, a psychiatrist is supposed to be able to overrule the school. If the school does not allow it, I would go to the American's with Disabilities Act for help. Those with mental/emotional disabilities are covered under the act.

Thanks. I'll search for that on the net. Although I'm in England so I guess it would be different.

Thanks for the reply. Take care xxx

Oh, I didn't know that. Not sure who it works over there. Don't take my word for it, but I think there may be something similar over there. Though it may not work the same way.

Re: Pysciatrist overrule a school and recomend a pupil to stay?

Cheers. I've been searching but I can't find anything of real use. There's the law but there's nothing about a pysciatrist overruling a school's decision. I've done a few emails to websites though and I hope they will come back to me. Thanks for your help.
Take care,
xxx
