Yes, share with your psychiatrist.

If it suddenly went away and you're AFRAID it might come back...it's still an issue.

If it went away because you have accepted it and believe you can handle it if it came up again..then you should still share with your psychiatrist. That is a success for you.

I have an intense fear to deal with the day (if) my husband dies before me. I accept that it will happen (if) he dies before me. But, I know I will have a terrible blow and an awful time to deal with the loss and sudden being "alone".

The fear is "always" there, but it doesn't rule my life. The reason it's more a reality is that I'm now at the age where my friends are dying. The loss to their spouses I cannot imagine...but it could easily happen to me.

Since you haven't shared your fear...you'd have to recognise your comfort level to share, and whether it would be important to your recovery.
