You actually sound pretty normal for a 17 yr old guy to be honest!!!
I'm wondering if the angry outburst were related to your parent's divorce or your Dad's death - I wasn't sure of the reason for the StepDad.
It's hard enough to deal with divorce and death when you're my age - it's especially hard for young guys who have a hard time talking about feelings and communicating.
Anger is an emotion that hangs out closer to the surface than hurt and pain. That may be why you have the rage type feelings.
The frog phobia isn't so strange - just about everyone has a phobia. I've heard that you can fake yourself right out of a phobia by slowing getting used to frogs for example.
Like pulling up some articles/pictures of them on the web, or in a book and looking at them a little longer each time. Then seeing a frog in an aquarium from a distance and getting a little closer, etc.
Alot of people just end up accepting their phobia too.
How are you doing otherwise? Like classes and extra-curricular stuff?
I understand the alone thing and not liking to pick up the phone.
I've always felt more "alone" than lonely when I'm by myself. And I have a couple really good friends who know I probably won't call them but they like me anyway!
It does get better. I can tell you that... Keep concentrating on the grades - honestly that's the key to alot of it. And if you're keeping an eye on the grades you'll pay less attention to some of the things that may seem pretty nutty now but will be long gone by the time you're 27...
Been there, Done that!
