Question Is this normal for a 24 year old?

Hi, would it be weird or not normal for a 24 year old male to mention high school very frequently? Meaning he compares common things going on now, to things from when he was in high school over 6 years ago. Even going as far as to mention teachers and lessons. I find it weird and annoying, but lately I wondering is it abnormal? Is it something to be concerned about?

I don't think so (I mean, I don't think it is abnormal). Maybe he just enjoys the memories, or wishes he could go back to those years. Could be that the reality of adulthood and its responsibilities is starting to kick in and part of him is clinging to the 'youth' he had then. Just a thought.

Re: Is this normal for a 24 year old?

Hi ,
Thanks for your relpy. I didn't know him in high school. But I do know he wasn't popular and I think he even had a hard time. It could be a responsibilty thing maybe.
I guess if it isn't concidered abnormal, it is just something to be bugged by, but when is it enough already? I couldn't imagine a 30 year old talking about high school all the time and being normal.

Re: Is this normal for a 24 year old?

Sometimes you see guys who obviously peaked during high school and they won't to keep reliving those moments. However, it sounds like this guy didn't have a good time and maybe he has a lot of regrets and wish he could redo the past.

It isn't abnormal, but I am not sure it's healthy. Have you ever asked him why he is so hung up over the past? Maybe there is something missing in his life or something he needs to do to get over his lost youth.
