Soooo screwed up!!!! - Mental Health Message Board

I have got some serious issues and I don't know what to do. I have been diagnosed with bpd, severe clinical depression, ocd, social phobia, adhd, self-injury and suicidal tendencies....(which I think most of this is *********...they're totally labeling me....but anyway....)

On top of that I have like a bajillion physical problems...TMJ, IBS, hypothyroidism, chronic severe tendonitis, plantar fascitis, got my gallbladder out, chronic sinusitis....aye....the list goes on.

Anyway, I'm only 19 and am dealing with some serious psychotic episodes lately and it is really starting to freak people out. I will be way way down and depressed for a series of days...switching from sadness, to anger, to confusion and frustration. During that time, I self-injure, become violently destructive, and have suicidal thoughts.

Now here's the crazy part...after these few days pass, I will have usually one day that I'm just kind of out of it...I isolate myself and am very passive and quiet. After that, I almost instantly go on this hyperactive, hysterical rampage. I will jump and scream and laugh hysterically. I will do things like hit people and bite people (playfully usually). Then I end up rolling around on the floor just making strange sounds and hitting the floor.

What in the world is wrong with me!!!?? It is seriously scaring both my loved ones as well as myself. When it is happening, I seem to have no control over it, but later am ashamed of it. Does anyone else have episodes like this???

I am currently taking Lexapro, Strattera, and Levothyroxine for my thyroid. I am also seeking counseling, but it is with someone new and we haven't gotten to discuss this yet...

Please help me!!!!

Do you think that the BPD was really a misdiagnosis for bipolar disorder?!

If you are actually psychotic then counseling will not help. Psychotic means that a person has delusions and/or hallucinations, and usually they are not aware that they are not real, although sometimes the hallucinations are so absurd that the person does realize that they cannot be true. Did someone tell you that you were psychotic? I don't think that counceling will help much for the problems you described. You need to see a psychiatrist. If you want to try vitamins, then a good multi, plus 1 gram of niacinamide 3 times a day, and extra zinc and vitamin C 2 grams with the niacinamide and something for omega 3 oils might help. If you try it and the niacinamide makes you lose your appetite or makes you feel nauseated the other non-flush form will not cause these side effects but it costs more, it is called Hexanicotinate. The niacinamide especially helps with anxiety symptoms, but it helps with others, too. It sounds like your body chemistry is way off and sometimes vitamins can help get things back where they should be.

Another possibility is that you are suffering from food allergies. Yes, food allergies can cause symptoms of mental illness! Get the book "Brain Allergies" maybe you can get it from the library. It explains how to find out if you are being affected by food allergies. Also if you look at my other posts I have put more details in some of them.
