Re: please help

Chester, counseling would really help! Here in the US if your child is taken care of they cannot take your child away. They cannot take your child because of any of your thoughts, only your actions. Please get referred for counseling.

Re: please help

Chester, I hope you read this since it is so many days since your first post. My advice would be to see a counselor. I was always an anxious kid. When I grew up I remained anxious. Anxiety and depression came on badly after my daughter was born. Anxiety and depression can sometimes be caused by hormonal disturbances. When I was in my late thirties, I began with horrible anxiety and panic attacks. It took eight years, but was eventually diagnosed as hyperthyroidism...again, a hormonal imbalance of a kind. Anxiety over anxiety creates and even heightened state of anxiety, and odd thoughts can be one of the symptoms. Hormonal imbalances can also affect the way you think. You will not be put into a mental institution because of your thoughts. A good counselor will help put your mind at ease. You are probably not suffereing from anything any weirder than some of the things I have experienced, and now that I am going throught menopause, I am in for another ride. But, I raised a beautiful healthy daughter, and have a wonderful marriage. Try to calm down and be kind to yourself. There is a quote I read once online that has always stuck with me....."Thought happens." Hope I was able to give you a little bit of support. Good luck, and try to enjoy your children. You would be surprised how a little diversion can help with anxious thoughts.

Re: please help

You may want to join a cbt group. The thought countering exercises like the tea form are excellent and teach you how to stop worrying so much and obsessing.

Re: please help

Chester -
I would definately seek treatment with a clinician who specializes in cognitive-behavioral therapy, as this is one of the most effective forms of treatment to help a person work through anxiety and depression related issues, which go hand in hand. Ironically, a person can be anxious about being depressed and depressed about being anxious. Whether this issue is more homornally based or emotionally loaded, seeking treatment with a professional is an excellent start. A good clinician is one who is "compassionately confrontational". I hope this helps.
