My mother lies a LOT... I mean a looootttt.. she's compulsive. Every man she meets and marries is a "sexually abusive, child molesting, physically and emotionally abusive, attemptive murderer" and she will deny everything that I remember from my childhood (SHE was the abusive one) and makes up wild stories about her life.. she told my latest stepfather that she KNEW he flirted with the women at the gym because she was PHSYCIC.
I guess my main concern is that even she believes her lies.. my brothers are about 10 years younger than I am and I hate that I can't help them and protect them from the horrible parenting of a compulsive liar..
furthermore, I worry that it could turn into a kind of dimensia/schitzophrenia.. schitzophrenia has been known on her side of the family even, which worries me even more.. what do you do? do you wait until things get really bad? how do you possibly get them, full grown adults, to seek mental help? she is legally responsible for herself.. so is it her responsibility to take care of a mental illness that she doesn't believe she has?
