Wellbutrin SR - Mental Health Message Board

I just started Wellbutrin SR. My doc prescribed 10 mg twice a day. However, being bad, I might change this to three times a day. Then when I go in for my recheck he can maybe give me 150 mg twice a day. Anyway, my question is about appetite and weight gain. Most people lose their appetite, but I seem to be just as hungry or hungrier. I'm afraid of gaining even more weight to add to that from Paxil! Has anyone experienced more hunger? Does it take while to kick in and is it dependent of the dosage?

I'm taking 150 mg 2 times a day, and haven't noticed any increase in appetite. I haven't gained or lost weight in the past month or so that I've been on it.

I take 150mg. a day, and it hasn't effected my appetite at all. Like you, when I was on paxil I gained like 40 pounds.

When I took 150mg's/day of wellbutrin sr, it totally increased my appetite. I was starving all the time. I also gained 5 lbs. I quit taking it.

I just realized that it was making me gain weight. I guess I've just been in denial for the past three months. I gained on Paxil, then went to Buspar, then Wellbutrin. I'm about 10-15 lbs heavier than I was in September. Does anyone know how long it takes for the drugs to get out of your system and to start losing weight?
