Post So.. I'm just gonna post this.. randomly..

I don't really tell a lot of people this.. But I figured.. whatever.. Might help. So here goes.

About... I'll say 10 months ago, I realized I was void of emotions. Aside from a (very) little bit here and there, I felt nothing. It never really bothered me aside from the curiosity to what they all felt like.

It's weird though, I act on them, as if they were there. I'll cry when I'm sad, laugh when something's funny (is that an emotion?), Smile when I'm happy. So far as I know, nothing's given me away.

I kinda figured it might be an emotional problem in itself. I had this thing, when I was a kid, I really don't want to go into that, but I thought that could possibly be the problem. I'd never told anyone, so I did. And it didn't anything. Helpful, huh? I can't really think of anything else it'd be, besides a mental disorder or something.

I've been 'depressed' before. Though not to the extent as your averade depression. I never went all gothic, cut myself, tried to kill myself (Thought about it though.. Often..).. I guess I'd have been twice. Same reason, different girl. I become really, really attached. Moreso than I should. And it's completely devistating when something happens. (Notice, I've never terminated a relationship before) I guess I'm just spewing out random information now, but it's fun, so I don't care.

Anyway, back to the point.. I was basically just wondering if any of you knew why. If I'd have to go to a psychiatrist (sp?) or something.

So yeah. Tell me.

There are actually quite a few different reasons for people to be devoid of emotion.
Abuse at an early age
Depression
Being a sociopath

And I'm sure there are others that just aren't coming to mind right now. We humans have a full range of stuff that can go wrong, don't we!
Do you remember EVER feeling love, hate, joy, etc.?
Is there a before and after to when your feelings shut down?
Sitting down with someone face to face would probably help you sort this out alot better, but this is a really good place to start, too.

Pat yourself on the back for trying to deal with this. Its hard to look in the mirror yourself, so please don't discount what you are trying to do to help yoursef!

Hope you get lots of ideas/viewpoints here so that you'll have a little to go on!

To me it sounds like you do not like to get to close is because your afraid of being hurt. This could definetly stem from your childhood even if you don't remember your mind will sub-conciously hide it way in the back. This is just my thoughts on it.

I too am a person who gets very attached to people and other things. I also hate change no matter what type of change it is it makes me panic.

Just hang in there I think if you had someone to talk to about it you would feel bettre.

Good luck

Well.. I kind of can feel them now. But no.

Is there a before and after to when your feelings shut down?

Before, I don't know.
After? If there was an after why would I bother to post this? About my past?

Sitting down with someone face to face would probably help you sort this out alot better, but this is a really good place to start, too.

Suppose so.. yeah.

Pat yourself on the back for trying to deal with this. Its hard to look in the mirror yourself, so please don't discount what you are trying to do to help yoursef!

Yay! haha.. Thanks.

Hope you get lots of ideas/viewpoints here so that you'll have a little to go on!

Yeah.. yeah...

Ahh no I'll get close.. But that kinda ended just a few hours ago.. Notice: I don't feel bad nearly at all. It's just semi-annoying.. I could take my mind off it by playing Soul Calibur or something.. But yes, I still think it's probably from my childhood. It wasn't really a great one, but whatever.

I too am a person who gets very attached to people and other things. I also hate change no matter what type of change it is it makes me panic.

Here as well. Both things.

Just hang in there I think if you had someone to talk to about it you would feel bettre.
