Going off of Prozac - Mental Health Message Board

I have been on prozac for many years now and have recently gone off of this med. I am having terrible dizzy spells, does anyone know if this is a side effect, or has anyone else experienced this. Any feedback I would appreciate. Thanks

I always refused to go on Prozac cuz I've heard that sometimes when people go off, it can cause feelings of violence and increases risk of violence against yourself or others.

In answer to your post though, i think dizziness is a common side effect when going off meds. Maybe try decreasing the dosage very slowly. Good Luck!

Sounds like withdrawal. I agree with blondie, it's better to taper off slowly when you stop these meds. The good news is most people overcome withdrawal within a week or two.

Just came off of the maximum dosage *slowly over the past two weeks, and it has been a ride in hell...I'll tell you if my doc says anything about it tomorrow when I see him
