yea, i've talked with my parents about the possibility of seroquel causing diabetes and have decided to start weening myself off of it because diabetes is common in my family as well. not good.
glasshour- i always take all my meds at once right before i go to bed at night. and sometimes the time can be pretty eratic (some nights at midnight, some nights at 2am). I havent had any problems regarding what time i take it. Also- my dr said that i can take a pill of 25mg dose whenever i feel anxious and i need to. I havent had to do that but he said if i needed to i could.
It isnt good to stop taking your meds cold turkey tho. u should gradually go off of them over a span of time depending on how high the dose u are on. Side effects and withdrawls are bad for some people who quit cold turkey, plus its not good for your brain chemicals if u just all of a sudden stop the meds.
Also- i think this happened with me. My perscription ran out so i was without 100mg pills for 2 days, but i kept taking the 25mgs. but i went from 125mg dose a day to 25 mg dose a day and i got bad headaches, plus now that i've gone back on the seroquel at my normal 125 mg dose i really dont think it's worked the same since. I've heard that from drs too, that sometimes if u stop taking your meds and then u start up again, sometimes the pills dont have the same effect, and sometimes dont work at all.
thanks for the answers about the hot flashes, i tried looking online for side effects of seroquel without much luck, and im still having hot flashes on and off which i think is weird. i go to my psychiatrist soon so ill ask him about it.
thanks for all the replies
