Unhappy serious daydreaming problem

Everyday I daydream about a different life and I don't know why. I like to put myself into other people's shoes and see what it's like. This distracts me from my day to day routines and find it difficult to do my work. I like to write my dreams down and keep them in a box.
I constantly live in this world and don't think about anything else. I don't know if I'm going to keep living like this.
I don't know what to do, is there something wrong with me?

Re: serious daydreaming problem

I think what you are going through is normal. Perhaps you are so into the daydreaming because you are not happy with something about your life. I day dream because I find it is my way of coping with the pains of life. My survival technique since I was a child.

But I know it is bothersome if it gets in the way of your work. Maybe you can find ways to control them better. I wish I had some suggestions. But I guess as you stated that you write them down is a good one I would keep doing. But if you are at work is there something you can try to keep yourself from getting too distracted from daydreaming?
