Ativan is a benzo which are very addicting. Have you tried tapering off the medication instead of just abruptly stopping it? I know exactly how you feel. I have bad withdrawl with my SSRI's. No one believed me until my psychiatrist called me one day and told me she met someone else with the same problem as me. She helped me taper off but when it was time to reduce my dosage to nothing the withdrawl came back again. My doctors are shocked because even a low low low dose of 5MG keeps me from withdrawl. Try reducing your dose about 2% every 2 weeks and so on. This is a very gradual and slow taper. I hope it works for you. Best of luck
