| Healing from Gulf War syndrome!!
I am a Gulf War Vet. Sick with gulf war syndrome/illness. At this point in time it doesn't matter so much to me as how I got sick but, how to heal from it. I am a RN recently disabled because my symptoms became so bad. However, I am willing to share with people things I have tried. And things that seem to work better than others. It can be very specific from person to person. And what works for one may not work for another. Here are some of my top recommedations for healing: Practice of Yoga on a daily basis 10-15 min 2 times a day. Walking or Swimming. I find weigt lifting and aerobics & ect. cause added pain in the body. Healthy diet: First do an elimination diet (a special diet to find out any foods you are sensitive to) You may find you will have to give up a lot of stuff you like but, it is better than constipation, bloating, diarrhea and taking all kind of meds. to solve it. Following Andrew Weil's book 8 weeks to optimun health is a great source as well. Find the right kind of doctors: A good pain management specialists is top on my list. Followed by a good neurologist and a good family practioner. And what I mean by good is someone who listens to you and believes what you are saying. All of my testing has always been normal! And I've had a lot. Alternative medicine: I have found that a massage once a week is wonderful. Reflexology is a good way to relax and helps with lymph drainage. Also a good physical therapist can be very helpful. And last butnot least is to try and make sure you have a good support system from family and friends. Of course I can't go into as much detail here as I would like. So I am trying to develope a site on [removed]and you can reach me through it as well. [removed]
