Question Gulf War Vet Allergic to Food

Hello everyone

My Hubby came back from Gulf War allergic to foods. Do you know of anyone with this problem?

He never had a problem with foods or allergic reactions until Gulf War when he returned home we found out he was allergic to a few items. Now it has progress to many. Allergist thought it was abnormal for an adult to be allergic to so many foods.

My is allergic to:

Blueberry, pine nut, strawberry, shrimp, wheat, barley, rye, tomato, corn-food, rice, white potato, apple, white bean, carrot, hazelnut, banana, grape, onion, pear, pistachio, peach, broccoli, pecan, cashew, green pea, peanut, walnut, brazil nut, celery, almond……only thing that was negative is Meat Panel

Dear Maggie HB User
other symptoms?

What happens when he eats things he is 'allergic' to?

The pancreas has digestive juices besides insulin,
maybe it is a pancreas problem, which I've heard a lot from the gulf war vets

Was he in a weapons room ... or did he fire missles?

Did he come down with fatigue? if so, What job did he have at that time?

Re: Gulf War Vet Allergic to Food

Many people with "Multiple Chemical Sensitivity" have this symptom. When I first became ill from malathion poisoning, I became allergic to most all food - I could not swallow most food. I lived on oranges, bananas and protein powder for 6 months and then gradually could eat more foods. Today, 10 yrs later,I can eat almost anything if it is not processed. If you do research on MCS, you will find this a common symptom. I was in a support group and one woman in my group could only eat only buffalo meat - nothing else. Another name for MCS is Environmental Illness.
