Angry Non-military person told he has Gulf War Syndrome

Hi - I am scared and sick. Been sick for about a year now with numerous symptoms. Until recently I was told it was all in my head which drove me crazy and I ended up in a psychiatric hospital for paranoia and depression. Anyway I have finally seen a specialist that says I have Gulf War Syndrome. Problem is I was NEVER in the GULF nor was a ever in the military. They found something called m. fermentans, a mycoplasma. He said it is some sort of biological agent from the war (either from vaccines or a bio weopon). He is treating me with 200mg of Doxycycline a day. Does anyone know about this. Is this the right treatment ? Has anyone been cured ? Any thought or comments appreciated.

yeah, ive done some research on this. i have heard that all you have to do is be exposed to it. if you came in contact with someone that had it-its possible you contracted it. ive heard of veterans family members getting GWS. and they never left the states-only thier loved ones
