medical discharge from Army

Has anyone had any health related problems relating to a tour in Iraq or Kuwait? I ask for my son, who is to be discharged from the Army due to breathing problems he has experienced since his return.

Re: medical discharge from Army

My husband was medically retired....He got sick while over there, came home in a wheelchair...They say he has peripheral neuropathy..He also has a lesion on his brain and his ventricals are enlarged...They don't know from what...They say his condition is from unknown etilogy....He was in PERFECT shape before he left..Now he just sits home..He hasn't worked since his return in 03.My husband doesn't have breathing problems, but I have heard of alot of soldiers developing asthma while on there tour...I would get a good exam and maybe start your c&p for the VA...Good luck and I wish your family well....Ralinda

Thanks Relinda,
He has had asthma ever since he got back in 2004. He is filling out the LOD (Line of Duty) paperwork right now which will document that he was injured in wartime duty. Then he should get medical benefits for life. (Thank God, he may need them). Really sorry about your husband, how old is he?
