Post Pregnant after gulf war - very worried, help!

Hi,

Im hoping someone can help me! I am pregnant, and conceived within a month of my husband returning from the gulf. I have become aware that he came into contact with depleted uranium, and also have concerns about the medication taken by him (and the other troops) whilst out there.

Much information is available about the possible birth defects caused by both DU and the medication, but it isnt taken seriously. I was dismissed by my medical consultant when raising my conerns, and now dont know where to turn.

Every day i worry myself sick about this baby, and possible problems caused by DU in our weapons, and the medication given to my husband.

Any help, or a pointer in the direction of groups or people who could advise me would be much appreciated, im very frightened.

warmest regards,
Claire-Louise

Hey Claire,

Sorry your request has remained unanswered for this long. I answered a previous post on Gulf War syndrome and Depleted Uranium that you may find useful and may help ease some of your concerns on DU depending on how much exposure your husband thinks he sustained. Hope it helps you out. On the down side, you have a legitimate reason to be concerned with the vaccinations and medications he received while in the military. Keep us posted on your situation if you don't mind and I hope everything turns out perfect for you and your baby.
