I Lost My Baby At 39w6d, need info please - Miscarriage & Still Birth Message Board

Hello,

I just gave birth to a baby girl on February 14th. She lived only 3 hours. The doctors can't figure out what happened as she was a very healthy little girl, or so it seemed. There was no heart trouble, 10 fingers, 10 toes, our blood types were okay, no nothing. She was however throwing up a lot.
There appeared to be nothing wrong with her when she came out. The doctors and nurses did their check up on her and everything was fine. She did need some oxygen, but not much. She was breathing on her own after an hour and ten minutes. It did also look like she was developing a serious case of jaundice that ws coming on very quickly.
I am awaiting the autopsy results.

Does anyone have any ideas on what could cause this?
Any opinions are greatly appreciated, I don't know what I'm going to do.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am due in less than 2 weeks and this has me frightened a bit. I have never been through something like this. I have lost 2 babies, but nothing like this. I lost one early on, and one at just over 5 months along.

I hope that you find comfort somehow and that time will help you to feel a bit better.

I'm stumped too. It's hard to say, considering she seemed fine other then the throwing up. Jaundice supposedly occurs in 1 out of every 3 babys. Please let us know what you find out. The doctor's had no explaination?

That is horrible i am so sorry, i am 10 weeks and have fears of miscarriage but this scares me.
Im not a doctor but maybe it was her liver that failed? as she was so young this may have been a shock to her system, jaundice can kill babies although it may not seem common
