When do you plan on trying for another baby?

Just curious how many women out there are planning on trying again soon!?
This was my 2nd miscarriage...Had my 1st miscarriage on 12-17-98 had a healthy son on 11-22-99 and suffered another miscarriage on 12-15-04. Had testing done and discovered why I miscarried (folic acid defiency). I can not try to conceive again for another 2 months since I'm on RX folic acid pills and I need to build up folic acid in my system. I can start tryin again on May 16th and right now I'm still so scared to even try! Maybe once May 16th gets here I'll be ready, but who knows! Anyone else scared to try again? Or has anyone been in this situation, but overcame their fears?...If so how did you make it easier on yourself? Thanks!!!!

Re: When do you plan on trying for another baby?

I lost 2 babies in a row but felt a need to try as soon as possible because I was a few months shy of turning 40 and new my time was running out. my Dr. said I could resume trying 6 weeks after the miscarrige. I also started on thyroid suppliments because they found I had hypothyroid which can cause miscarriages. I got pregnant right away and my Dr. was supper about helping me deal with my fear. I had vaginal ultrasounds every few weeks till you could get the heartbest on dopler just to make sure I didn't worry as much about losing the baby. although it was hard not knowing inbetween. Go with your heart.

Re: When do you plan on trying for another baby?

I have felt the same terrible fear that i will miscarry again. but just yesterday a friend told me, "there is no joy w/out risk" and i took that to heart. There is a risk in getting pregnant again, but the same risk exists two months from now, six months from now, five years from now. i won't wait forever. my husband and i decided to take the plunge and just see what happens. we trust the Lord and believe that eventually it will work out. if i need special medication or something, we want to find out now rather than later.

Re: When do you plan on trying for another baby?

I just miscarried my son, whom I was 15 wks. pregnant with. To me, it was more like premature labor because I literally was in labor with and gave birth to him. He was so tiny, and I was so afraid to even think of having sex. After talking with my fiance and telling him all my fears, we've decided to try again when we get the ok from my doctor. This doctor seems wonderful. He said when we do conceive again, he'll do ultrasounds and all the testing we need. If there's a problem, he'll try to fix it so we can have another child. He's still testing the baby and my placenta, and will test me for things when my hcg level goes back to 0. I'm still afraid of going through this again, but now we know the symptoms and can get to the ER before I go through the trauma of giving birth alone on my toliet. My fiance believes that God will help us though this, and has a plan for us. I believe that too, even though it's very hard right now.

Re: When do you plan on trying for another baby?

After 3 days of cramping and bleeding and finally having the D&C just yesterday I am not so sure I want to try again right away. Originally I was sure I wanted to try as soon as we can. I know that my chances of a healthy pregnancy are good next time, I just can't imagine going through this again. I was 10 weeks, it was our first. It has been harder than either of us ever expected. DH is taking it especially hard. I have to trust something must've been really wrong for the baby not to make it. I have a good relationship with God and I just pray for Him to lead me in the right direction. I'm pretty sure we will try again soon. My doctor suggested waiting at least 2-3 cycles. Good luck to you all hope we can chat on the pregnancy boards soon....
