| Re: need advice on molar pregnancy
If you had a D&C two months ago and your HCG levels have not fallen below 5 yet, then you most likely did have a molar (or at least a partial molar) pregnancy. However, if you had a very high amount of HCG in your body at the time of your D&C, it might take that long for it to all leave your body.
In my reasearch, I've learned that it is important for the betas to get back down to below 5 because there is a very small possibility the cells could begin the multiply and actually cause cancer (a very curable form of cancer). Where it might not hurt the baby, it would probably not be safe for YOU to conceive while you still have trophoblastic cells in your uterus becuase if they did become cancerous there would be no way of knowing and no way of treating the cancer without harming a fetus.
I think you could probably convince a doctor to let you start trying again once your HCG levels get down to 0.
