help! - Miscarriage & Still Birth Message Board

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me out. i am 5 1/2 weeks pregnant on Thursday night had period pains, they came peridically on friday being mild and short lasting, then on friday afternoon I began bleeding, I attended my doctors and then the emergency department aS obviously i was very distressed, i was sent home and have to wait for a scan on tuesday to find out the state of play. I have been grieving all weekend for my baby although i don't know if i have actually miscarried yet.
My blood loss started off light brown then went red, it is light in flow and all period type pain has ceased. I have lost no clots just a little bit of stringy blood. i am on day 3 now of the light bleeding but not spotting (i don't think). I am looking for someone who may have had a similar experience to guess whether they think this sounds like a misscarriage or if it sounds like anything else.
Any help would be so gratefully recieved

Weepyone--I'm so sorry. The waiting is enough to drive you nuts, isn't it? Try to stay relaxed (that's easy for me to say) and TAKE IT EASY!! I can offer encouragement---and let you know you're not alone!! Hang in there.

I was 5 wks preg (w/twins but didn't know it at this point) and I woke up in the middle of the night from bleeding-dark and bright red blood. I called the DR immediatly and was told to rest w/my feet up-and come in at 8am instead of my 9am appt. I thought the same thing as you--miscarriage-and the nurse didn't even care!! (I was an In-Vitro patient and had a regular weekly appt) Those 5 hrs were the longest of my LIFE!! I was told the bleedinghappens to many people, it's normal--that's why she didn't seem to concerned, while I was flipping out. I bled for 4 1/2 mos...but all is well-they are 5 1/2 yrs. (I also bled for 3mos w/my first child 6 yrs before them...) Stay strong--write down everything that happens if you think you'll forget--and ask all the questions you can when you go in Tuesday. Take a pad of paper when you see the dr. Keep us updated when you are up to it. I want to know how you are doing!!

Had twinges of feeling sick but this may be anxiety. Only got to wait one more day now. bleeding is slowing down now it has been like a fairly light period brown turning to red, lost some stringy blood on friday just a bit and non since, I just can't bare the thought i have lost our baby. Everything is crossed for luck, have rubbed a buddah's belly (told this is for luck). i still have symptoms related to needing to wee and breast still full. have felt like i am going mad have felt so emotionally ill and sick and tierd absolutely exhausted. Thanks for your tips will make a list of things

Wow...we can compare notes right at the same time!!!
I started spotting and then bleeding abit last Tuesday. There was never a lot of blood and it was usually bright red but there was always some clotting when I went to the bathroom. This lasted till Friday and then abruptly stopped...usually with a period for me it peters out over a few days. I am feeling nauseous again and have some cramps. Since I hadn't even been to the dr's yet and only had one faint positive I am really unsure what is up. I am off the to the dr's today and am pretty sure she'll say I'm not pregnant anymore but who knows.
Relax though and stay calm...anxiety is a funny thing and seems to make you second (third and forth) guess yourself as well as forget things that did happen.
