Unhappy Pregnancy after miscarriage

To give you a little history... I miscarried on April 9th being 5 weeks pregnant. I had a chemical pregnancy. I have not had a period since then. On day 21-28 I had very light brown spotting with 1 episode of red spotting. I took a pregnancy test yesterday morning being Mon the 17th of May. It was negative. I feel tired sometimes, frequent urination, occasional breast pains. I have 3 beautiful boys at home and this is my first miscarriage. I am not sure what to expect. Should I have a normal period after a miscarriage? Or should I count the 7 days of spotting 3 weeks after miscarriage as my period. My cycle is 31 days long. I feel like I am loosing my mind. I feel like I am making up my symptoms because I want to have a baby. Also I would like to know if I am pregnant, I am leaving for vacation in 1 week. What should I do?

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage

Hei,
Sorry about the miscarriage, but focus on the future and keep up the spirit because the stress also affects our body, making it more difficult to get pregnant.
Close friends of mine had had miscarriages and their periods were delayed too. I think in your case, your hormones could be causing those symptoms. You may wait another week but since you are traveling, maybe the best will be to check with your gyn who can choose to prescribe you some pills so you can have your period; once they are regular, you can try for the baby again.
Good luck!

Re: Pregnancy after miscarriage

I am sorry for your loss. I know with my miscarriages it took me months to get my periods back but everyone is different. I would wait it out and try not to focus on it too much and hopefully they will come back sooner rather then later. It takes the body time to adjust to not being pregnant anymore.
