Red face Molar pregnancy? Help...

My mind is in a whirl. I can't shut it off!

History:
Two healthy uncomplicated pregnancies, minor nausea bad pelvic pain. Regular stuff. The most recent pregnancy was over 5 months ago, I had a beautiful healthy baby boy.

No history of anything.. no complications or health concerns.. The Beau and I have no history of twins. (This factor will come into play in a minute)

Whats going on now:
I'm 11 weeks pregnant, up until a week or so ago I had horrible nausea and fatigue. I've been suffering from terrible constant headaches!! I have one right now! It's so unlike the other two children. At 8 weeks I had my initial bloodwork taken. My levels were over 220,000. According to fundal measurments, it appears as though I'm measuring about 16-18 weeks! My doctor ordered an ultrasound for this week. I've only had one period since I gave birth to my son, and became pregnant right after. I also took a pregnancy test the day before my period started.. so I know my dates are correct.

There are no twins in either of our families... I'm so scared this is a molar pregnancy.. I havent had any other symptoms so I'm hopeful.

Does anyone know anything about molar pregnancies??

Re: Molar pregnancy? Help...

From what I know a molar pregnancy would not cause you to be measuring large and I doubt that twins would make your fundal height so high at 11 weeks. I didn't even think they started checking fundal height until the third trimester.
keep us updated and good luck.

Hi is that the HCG level? Is "Molar" pregnancy what the doctor said he wanted to check for?

HCG levels up to 229,000 are in the range of normal of 8 weeks. I have a feeling you might be having twins though.

Thanks for the replies. Lisa.. youre everywhere! haha :P

I did read that with a molar pregnancy it can cause rapid growth... but at the same time I also read that with twins you can measure several weeks larger.

I'm soooo worried about what it could be! Twins or molar! Both are scary! I'll be sure to update after my ultrasound on Wednesday!

Re: Molar pregnancy? Help...

Twins are scary but a molar pregnancy is much scarier. Hoping that you just have one baby in there!
