Problems after miscarriage

I wasn't sure where to post this, but two weeks ago I had a miscarriage. I was just into the 2nd trimester. I went through a lot of pain. My muscles had been tensed up for about 8 hours straight from the amount of pain I had gone through. I lost a lot of blood as well. I ended up in the ER before I could even make it to my scheduled DNC, though my doctor still continued with the surgery.

The concern I have is that I noticed this past Friday that the right side of my neck was swollen just above my clavicle. I didn't notice it at first because I actually have to bend my head backwards to feel it, and it seems to reach up a bit towards my shoulder. It doesn't really hurt to the touch, but if I bend my head forward or to the side it sends a shooting pain up my neck and into my head. I've even had a little bit of shoulder pain, but I have it in my other shoulder as well. I thought it was caused from the tense muscles during my miscarriage, but I do have to admit that prior to my miscarriage I had been waking up to a stiff neck almost every morning, which was accompanied by a headache.

I went to the doctor this morning, but he didn't seem too sure about it. He said I didn't have a fever, which was good, so he suggested I put a warm compress on it and see how that goes. If by the end of the week it doesn't go down or worsens he wants to get an x-ray done. Of course, being the person that I am I have been searching around the internet and freaking out because everything seems to point to cancer, which freaks me out because I just lost my uncle a few years back to Hodgkin's disease. Of course, I see this swelling, which almost feels like a hard lump and freak out.

Anyone had this before or might know what it could be?
